GFCF adds Cochran Charitable Fund

FOSTORIA — The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation has announced the addition of a new donor-advised fund, the Donald A. & Michele D. Cochran Charitable Fund."My husband Donald and I worked on our estate plans several years ago, which included the establishment of a Legacy Fund at the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation to become funded by an estate gift when we had both passed," said Michele Cochran, executive director of the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation and adviser to the new fund. "However, since Don passed away recently, I decided to move forward with opening the fund now in memory of his generosity to the Fostoria community and beyond. "I've been the director of the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation since February 2010 and I've had the privilege to help others through this same process, so it is quite surreal, yet very rewarding to open a donor-advised fund to give back to this community and to causes that we've been passionate about."A celebration-of-life service in Don Cochran's memory is scheduled for 11 a.m., June 14 at the First Presbyterian Church of Fostoria, 201 W. Fremont St., with the Rev. Steven Clagg of Wood County Baptist Church and the Rev. Mark Self of Trinity United Brethren Church officiating.Contributions may be directed to the fund at any time through the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation office, 342 Perry St. P.O.
