Micro-Wrestling comes to Fostoria

Little people, as those with dwarfism prefer to be called, have been part of professional wrestling for decades, and they may have had their greatest exposure when TruTV aired "Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling" series in 2011. Fans in Fostoria and the surrounding area will get to take in some of that talent when Micro-Wrestling All-Stars, MCW's rebrand of 2018, heads to Venue 18, located at 11295 Ohio Route 18. Not to be confused with MicroMania, a circuit that came to Fostoria in January, Micro-Wrestling All-Stars is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m., card on June 14. The doors will open at 6 p.m. "We're probably the best show that's out there," Micro-Wrestling All-Stars owner Dan Kowal said. "... Our talent is really established, mainstream, headline talent that has wrestled worldwide for years." Micro-Wrestling All-Stars has evolved from the MCW founding in 2009 by Johnny Greene, known in his time as a professional wrestler as Johnny Attitude. "Johnny Greene passed away five years ago and I stepped in," said Kowal, a veteran of wrestling promotions. "We rebranded to Micro-Wrestling All-Stars (in 2018). Some of the original characters are still on the roster." There are no certainties of who may be on the Fostoria card. But perhaps the best known of the Micro-Wrestling All-Stars is Meatball, who stands 4-foot-6, weighs 260 pounds and is billed by the organization as "The World's Biggest Midget." Some of Micro-Wrestling All-Stars' other big names include Huggy Cub, known as the "The Biggest Pimp in the Game"; The Tiny Terror Blixx; and Luscious Lori, who Kowal said is the daughter of Professional Wrestling Hall-of-Famer Lord Littlebrook. Kowal said the little people who wrestle typically appeal to a larger variety of spectators than standard professional wrestlers do. "It's kind of an alternative to (standard) professional wrestling, which has become stale and very one-dimensional to where it reaches just wrestling fans who follow the product religiously, whereas with (little-people wrestlers), a person will come out of curiosity and believe this is going to be a fun, good time."
