David Kenneth Kitchen

David Kenneth Kitchen, 86, of Fostoria, passed away at 10:07 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Regency Hospital, Sylvania, with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Bowling Green, to the late Kenneth and Catherine Kitchen. David married Betty Wohlgamuth and they divorced. He then married Barbara E. Bright Aug. 29, 1970, in Monroe, Michigan and she survives in Fostoria. Also surviving are seven children, Deborah (Mike) Kessler of Fostoria, Terry (Teresa) Gilbert of Fostoria, Lisa (Kevin) Althaus of Tiffin, Michael (Lori) Kitchen of Fostoria, David Kitchen of Fostoria, Julie (Ken) Knotts of Marion and Barbie (Dan) Hutton of Fostoria; five siblings, Dennis (Sandra) Kitchen of Port Clinton, Rose Votg of San Diego, California, Mary (Richard) Ellison of Avon Lake, Angela (Dan) Rentz of Findlay and Louis Kitchen of Fostoria; and many loving grand and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Jennifer Byron and Cathy Kitchen; and a brother, Jim Kitchen. David retired from the Chrysler-Foundry, Perrysburg as a welder (1965-1999). He and his wife were the owners and operators of the former Hollow Inn, McCutchenville (1970-1990). David was known as one of the best "steel guitar" players around. David learned to play the steel guitar from his dad's music shop, "Kitchen's House of Music," where the R Place Sports Bar and Grill currently stands. He was also a graduate of St. Wendelin High School and a member of the King Midget Car Club. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bernie Dickson presiding. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
