FROM MONDAY: Fostoria girls take down Genoa in NBC clash

FOSTORIA – For the second time in three days, Fostoria's girls basketball team won in a rout. The Lady Red got nine points each from Garyana Overton and Alycia Middlebrooks, and took down Northern Buckeye Conference rival Genoa, 47-19. Lyrique Johnson had eight points for Fostoria, and Jasmine Groves added seven. ELMWOOD 61 CAREY 53 BLOOMDALE – Anna Barber had 20 points, Cara Frank had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Elmwood's girls moved to 17-2 with a 63-51 non-conference win over Carey. Brooklyn Thrash scored 17 for the Royals, who used a 17-10 burst in the third to pull away from the Blue Devils. Ady Stewart had 15 points to lead Carey, while Julia Brodman scored 10. LIMA PERRY 50 VANLUE 33 LIMA – Vanlue kept things close for three quarters at Lima Perry, but the Commodores used a big fourth to beat the Wildcats, 50-33. Vanlue trailed just 34-28 after three, but went on a 16-6 run after that to win. Miami Hall had 11 points and seven rebounds for Perry, while Dana Patton added 10 points. Olivia Secord put up 10 points and six boards for the Wildcats, who dropped to 2-18. Mara Simon had eight points for Vanlue, while Lexi Brooks had six points and six rebounds. BOYS BASKETBALL ELMWOOD 52 WOODMORE 42 ELMORE — Bryce Reynolds scored 16 points and Kade Lentz and Hayden Wickert added 11 each in leading Elmwood to a 52-42 Northern Buckeye Conference win over Woodmore. Wickert also grabbed 10 rebounds, Reynolds had eight and Will Harrison five. Lentz fleshed out his stat line with six assists and five steals in helping the Royals improve to 11-7 overall, 8-3 in NBC play. Aaron Miller had 16 points and Bryce Sandwisch 12 for Woodmore.
