While in the womb of her mother, Jillian Arnold, Jacoby was diagnosed with non-immune hydrops fetalis, a condition in which abnormal amounts of fluid build up in two or more parts of the body of a fetus or newborn. She was given a 5% chance of getting to a live birth and the same odds of surviving.
