PEMBERVILLE — Fostoria High’s volleyball team used a pair of record-setting efforts to rally from 2-1 down and outlast Eastwood 25-14, 13-25, 15-25, 25-16, 15-8 for a Northern Buckeye Conference volleyball win Tuesday.

Tyriana Settles broke her own school record with 46 kills on 90 of 101 attacking. She set the previous mark of 40 kills last season against Tiffin Columbian and tied it earlier in the season in Fostoria’s first match against Eastwood.

Mary Harris also set a school record with 55 assists on 117 of 119 setting for the Lady Red (14-3, 8-1 NBC).

Dakota Thomas, who currently plays for Fostoria, and Gabby Gregg each shared the previous record of 50. Thomas achieved her feat in the first Eastwood match as well.

The Eagles fell to 10-6, 5-4 in the NBC.

KANSAS — Jordan Hohman knocked down 10 kills and made a pair of blocks to help New Riegel thump Lakota 25-6, 25-9, 25-15 on Tuesday night in a Sandusky Bay Conference River League matchup.

Aubrey Bouillon, Madalyn Reinhat and Kaitlyn Kirian each served for three aces for the Blue Jackets (13-2, 7-2 SBC), with Bouillon also sending up 15 assists, Reinhart making nine digs and Kirian notching two blocks.

BLOOMDALE — League-leading Lake was too much for Elmwood as the Flyers swept the Royals 25-10, 25-11, 25-18 in a Northern Buckeye Conference volleyball matchup Tuesday.

Kayla Minich led Elmwood (4-10, 2-7 NBC) with five kills while Madi Schroeder had 17 assists.

The Flyers (14-2, 9-0 NBC) remained the lone unbeaten in conference play.

Zoe Meyer and Kate Rombach added six kills apiece, with Meyer also making four blocks, and Sophie Burtis matched White with six aces as the Senecas, ranked 15th in Division IV in the state coaches association poll, improved to 14-2 overall and 9-0 in River Division play.

Emma White tallied 13 assists and Ashlyn Jones came up with five digs for Calvert.

The Crimson Streaks dropped to 6-11 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

GIBSONBURG — Old Fort’s Madison Guth finished with 31 assists and 13 digs and went past 1,000 assists for her career as the Stockaders swept Gibsonburg 25-13, 25-6, 25-11 for a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division volleyball win Tuesday.

Jenna Clouse notched a team-high 13 kills to lead Old Fort (14-2, 9-0 SBC River). Ashlyn Magers added four aces and 10 digs.

Gibsonburg fell to 4-13, 3-6 in league play.

VAN BUREN — Van Buren trailed 2-1 at halftime but erupted for seven straight goals en route to topping Otsego 8-3 for a nonleague boys soccer victory Tuesday.

Jonah Frederick score for the Black Knights (9-1) at the 48:23 mark to knot the score at 2-2. Nick McCracken added two goals in a 15-second, assisted on the next two scores by Hunter Stone and Jordan Frederick and tacked on another goal to complete his hat trick.

Thomas Piccirillo notched two assists to become Van Buren’s career assist leader.

Otsego fell to 2-6-2 overall.
