Hoening News Update

A smell of natural gas in the area of Van Buren and Vine streets early today led to a brief evacuation of ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.
Around 5:30 a.m., Fostoria Fire Division arrived at FCH stating it had received several calls from residents in the area about a gas odor, according to a statement from Tausha Moore, director of public relations for ProMedica.
“The fire department ordered an evacuation of the hospital. As our facility was being evacuated, Columbia Gas checked and confirmed there was no harmful gas present inside the building,” Moore reports.
“Midway through the evacuation, the evacuation was canceled and ProMedica was given the all-clear to return patients and employees to the building. Shortly thereafter, the hospital returned to normal operations,” Moore reports.
