BASCOM — A Hopewell-Loudon School bus was involved in an accident this morning on Ohio 18.
The accident involved a pickup truck and school bus No. 7, which transports students from the Nickie Lane, Angela Drive area.
H-L Superintendent Nicole Jiran, who went to the scene of the crash, said none of the 46 students aboard the bus nor the bus driver were hurt. She reported emergency technicians examined the driver of the pickup truck, but no transport was made.
“Anyone driving up on the scene would think it was a lot worse than it actually was with all the flashing lights,” she said of emergency crews from Bascom Joint Fire District and the Fremont Post of the State Highway Patrol.
Another school bus was sent to the crash site to collect and transport the students to school, Jiran said. She said the bus involved in the crash was drivable, but will not be able to transport students until repairs are made.
“The stop sign (on the bus) was destroyed,” she said.
The accident is under investigation.
