Snow covers the area

Marlene Gillig (in back) and her daughter, Madison Gillig, shovel snow off their driveway in the 200 block of Elwood Avenue Wednesday afternoon after several inches of snow blanketed the area to welcome in the new year. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, meaning severe weather is not anticipated, for Seneca, Hancock and Wood counties through 4 p.m. today. But more snow and extreme cold are on the way. For today, the weather service says 1-4 inches of snow is possible in Fostoria. A high near 19 is forecast with wind chill as low as -1. Tonight, a chance of snow showers exists mainly before 7 p.m. The temperature will get as low as -1 with wind chill weighing in at -16.(photo by Morgan Manns)
