CINCINNATI (AP) — A woman has been indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide in a crash that killed her 4-year-old grandson in southwest Ohio last weekend.
Prosecutors said 43-year-old Geanna Mitchell was driving with a suspended license and under the influence of alcohol or drugs Saturday night in an SUV she allegedly took from her daughter without permission.
They reported she crossed the center line on a bridge over the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Covington, Kentucky. Police said the SUV hit an oncoming minivan, then a barrier, rolled over and landed on its roof.
Mitchell, her 9-year-old daughter and the driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. Mitchell’s grandson, Logan Mitchell, died later at a hospital.
Mitchell was indicted Friday. Online records didn’t list an attorney for her.
