ND Launches National Workforce Recruitment Effort

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota officials have officially launched a national campaign designed to attract workers to the state to fill thousands of open jobs.

The state’s Economic Development Foundation on Wednesday announced the official kick off of the so-called “Find the Good Life in North Dakota” campaign.

The effort will rely on media advertising and a state website.

The $800,000 campaign is being paid equally by tax-supported state funds and a donation by an oil company. Sanford Health and the sporting goods story Scheels each also gave $50,000 to the effort.

Officials say there are about 25,000 more jobs than takers in oil-rich North Dakota at present and the number is expected to increase.

Digital ads are targeting primarily 15 states including Alaska, Illinois, Ohio and South Dakota.
