Browns Wrap Draft With Cornerback, Trade

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Browns snagged another quarterback and made another trade on the final day of the NFL draft.

After selecting Pierre Desir, a cornerback with a compelling background from tiny Lindenwood in the fourth round, Cleveland traded its seventh-round pick to Baltimore for a sixth-rounder in 2015.

It was general manager Ray Farmer’s fifth trade in his first draft, which will be remembered for his deal late in the first round to get Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel at No. 22. Earlier in the first round, the Browns traded out of the No. 4 spot and selected Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert at No. 8.

The euphoria of Manziel’s selection was quickly tempered by a report that star wide receiver Josh Gordon is facing a league suspension for failing a drug test.
