Air Force Intelligence Center To Get New Head

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A new commander will take over a national military intelligence agency headquartered at an Air Force base in southwest Ohio later this year.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base says Air Force Col. Leah Lauderback will take command of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center at the base near Dayton. Lauderback currently is commander of the 67th Cyberspace Operations Group at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

The center analyzes data on foreign aerospace forces and weapons systems to determine performance characteristics, capabilities, vulnerabilities and intentions. The Air Force has said the center’s assessments are an important factor in shaping national security and defense policies.

The center has more than 3,000 employees worldwide.

No date has been set to mark the change in command when Lauderback replaces Col. Aaron Prupas.
