MARYSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A court hearing has been pushed back for a man who Ohio authorities say ran over his 4-year-old son with his van after the boy fell from the vehicle.
Natividad de Jesus Hernandez faces a preliminary charge of leaving the scene without speaking to authorities after the Dec. 26 accident that killed his son.
The 30-year-old Hernandez was due Monday at Marysville Municipal Court in central Ohio, but the court says his hearing was rescheduled for Jan. 16.
Hernandez’s attorney disputes the charge, saying a sheriff’s deputy dash cam video shows Hernandez meeting police at the scene as his son is rushed into an ambulance.
The Union County prosecutor says the focus has shifted to the circumstances around the death and says the video shows only part of the story.
