Norman Edward Gibat, 65 of Fostoria, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

Fitting that he would go out amidst fireworks, as he was a man of many interests and an interesting man.

Music played a vital role in Norman’s life and he enjoyed performing at coffee houses, church and was a member of “The Gospel Travelers” and Trinity Episcopal Church in Findlay, OH.

Norman was creative and enjoyed theater from a young age, participating in plays in Oklahoma, Illinois, Maryland and The Ritz Players in Tiffin, OH, both on stage and back stage. He played Erastus Bowe, first white settler of Tiffin for Tiffin’s bi-centennial.

He loved the outdoors and volunteered at several National Parks, including Catoctin Mountain Park and was on the board of “Tranquility Farms.”

He was always ready to tell you more that you wanted to know on any subject you broached and knew something about nearly everything.

He and his wife, Holly Rife, lived in Sabillasville, MD, from 2005″”2014 and moved to Fostoria, Ohio, upon her retirement in January 2015. His wife, brother, step mother and all his family and friends live on to tell Norm stories.
