Carol M. Spangler, 83, of Tiffin, passed away at 11:05 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at her residence.
Carol was born on February 9, 1935 in Fostoria, to the late Roy P. and Emma (Reiss) Statler. She married Donald H. Spangler Sr. in Monroe, MI on August 4, 1954 and he passed away on November 15, 1993.
Survivors include her son, Donald (Pam) Spangler Jr. of Fostoria, two grandchildren, Audrey and Laura Spangler, a great-grandson, Jackson Spangler, a friend, Ron Lyon of Caledonia and a lifelong friend, Ann Gregory of Tiffin, brother-in-law, Richard Myers of Findlay and many nieces and nephews.
Carol worked at J.C. Penny in Tiffin for 20 years and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Carol loved her cranberry glass, playing cards and was a great cook. She was 1954 graduate of Fostoria High School.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Forrest, Carl, Ellsworth Statler, three sisters, Phyllis Roberts, Audrey Myers and Barbara Whitta.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. There will be a private family visitation held for the family at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. A private family burial will be follow the services at Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.
