Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Borer, 68 of Tiffin, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at Mercy Health-St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Sept. 3, 1949 in Rome, New York, to Warren and Olevia (McIntyre) Carmody. She married Richard Edmund Borer Apr. 29, 1978 in Lee Center, N.Y., and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sarah Borer of Chicago, Ill. and Melissa Miskell of Lancaster, Oh.; three grandchildren, Autumn, Blake and Madalyn; two brothers, Dan (Nancie) Carmody of Ballston Lake, N.Y. and Tom (Arlene) Carmody of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters, Carol (Bill) Baldygo of Lee Center, N.Y. and Mary Frances Carmody of Rome, N.Y.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her special aunt, Mary McIntyre.
Betty was a 1967 graduate of Rome Free Academy and she attended Maria Regina College, Syracuse, N.Y. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a volunteer at Autumnwood Care Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed painting, golf, tennis and cooking and she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio, 44883 (419-447-3113). A wake service will take place at 3:30 p.m.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at the church 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to Autumnwood Auxiliary, St. Mary Catholic Church or to Calvert Catholic Schools.
