Carol Lee Hummel, 76 of North Baltimore, OH, went to be with her Lord on September 3, 2017 after a 3 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in Whitehouse, OH, to the late Lewis and H. Marie Baumbarger on June 15, 1941. She married Carey C. Hummel on June 23, 1962 and he passed away in 2007.
Also preceding her in death is a brother, James Baumbarger; and a sister, Susan Baumbarger.
Survivors include a son, Calvin Hummel (Kim McCance) of Weston, OH; a daughter, Letha Brumbaugh (Douglas Myers) of Bairdstown, OH; one granddaughter, Amber Hummel of Bowling Green, OH; three grandsons, Rosco Hummel (Taylor) of North Baltimore, Andrew (Danielle) Brumbaugh of Rudolph and Jacob (Regan) Brumbaugh of Deshler; four great-grandsons; brothers, Dick (Loraine) of Wilmington, DE, Lewis Jr. (Betty) Baumbarger of Fostoria, OH, and Joe (Margi) Baumbarger of Grand Rapids, OH; sisters, Peggy Hummel of Bairdstown, Alice (Mike) Hummel of Swanton, OH, Barbara (Walter) Huether of Boswell, OK, Joanne (Bob) Boyer of North Baltimore and Linda (Bob) Edrington of Anonna, TX; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins by the dozens.
Carol loved being with family and her many friends. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, collecting anything pig, glass ornaments and walking with her Pomeranians.
She was a member of the North Baltimore Historical Society and Holy Family Catholic Church in North Baltimore. She worked as a custodian at Bowling Green State University for 30 years and retired in 1999. She then started to really enjoy her cottage by Lake Erie.
There will be no funeral services as Carol has generously donated her body to science at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
There will be a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in North Baltimore with a light lunch to follow.
