Richard Thomas “Tom” Fraley, 60, of Tiffin, a free spirit, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 14, 2017 at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital after battling cancer.
He was born on May 5, 1956, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Ralph and Madeline (Monaco) Fraley. On November 20, 2001, he married Kathryn Januska-Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn of Tiffin; stepson, Russell (Angelique) Miller of Berlin Heights; stepdaughter, Heather (John) Motes of Dayton, GA; brothers, Ralph (Nancy) Fraley of Adrian, MI, Bill (Nikki) Fraley of Toledo and Dave (Bev) Fraley of Hudson, FL; sisters, Rosemary (George) Houck, Sandy (John) Pitts and Diane (Dennis) Baker, all of Tiffin and Emma Jean (Doug) Chester of Benton; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Grace, Ava, Robert, Kristi, Gavin and Dakota; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kathleen Beamer-Stone.
Tom graduated in 1975 from Tiffin Columbian High School and worked at Norton Mfg. in Fostoria for years. He was a member of the Avengers Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, working on his friends’ motorcycles, and golfing. Tom lost his leg in a hit and run accident and was known for his stories of losing his artificial leg while riding his motorcycle. He was a Hobo for years, known as “Tom Tracks” jumping trains and making friends in California. He was famous among this group, having his picture on the Hobo calendar six times. Tom loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation at this time. His final ride and burial will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
