Paul F. Brose, 83, of McCutchenville, died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2:40 p.m. at St. Francis Home in Tiffin. Born on December 26, 1930 in Fostoria, he was the son of the late William H. and Louise R. (Reinhart) Brose. He married Nancy Ann Shock on August 2, 1958 at St. Wendelin Church in Fostoria. She survives in McCutchenville.
Also surviving are their four children, Mary Jo (Donald) Brugmann, Evansville, IN, Louise (Bruce) Townsend, Locke, NY, Gerard (Gabriele) Brose, McCutchenville, Angela (Doug) Hullinger, Kettering; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren, nine siblings; Anna Waltemeyer, Fostoria, Lucille (Fred) Smith, Fostoria, Bernard Brose, Fostoria, Inez Kerlin, Clyde, Jeanette (George) Lucius, Bucyrus, Alice Lucius, Tiffin, Francis (Donna) Brose, Tiffin, Andrew (Betsy) Brose, Sycamore, Roseann (Jim) Mayer, Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by two infant children, Anthony and Virginia Brose; four brothers, William-infant, Virgil, Herman and Jacob Brose.
Paul was a lifelong farmer and custodian and maintenance for Mohawk Schools.
He was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey.
His passion was woodworking. He enjoyed making toys for his grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at STOMBAUGH~BATTON FUNERAL HOME, Carey. A Scripture service will be at 8 p.m. with Father Ron Shock officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation with the Rev. Florian Tiell, OFM Conv. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Frenchtown.
