Kenneth Ray Fairchild, 72, Corinth, Miss., formerly of Bettsville, Ohio, passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior on April 29, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
Kenny was born March 21, 1942, son of the late Cecil and Neva (Blair) Fairchild. In 1970, he married Ingrid Burghardt, of Hamburg, Germany and she preceded him in death in 1994. He married Nellie Crone of Columbus, Ohio in 1997. She survives in Corinth, Miss.
Also surviving are his two children, Daphne Lattimer of Columbus and El-Jay Fairchild of Memphis, Tenn.; one step-son, John Crone of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, James Fairchild of Fostoria and Lowell “Pete” Fairchild of Danielsville, Ga.; two sisters, Wanda (Ronald) Clark of Findlay and Judy (Marvin) Jameson of Vanlue; two step-brothers, Daniel (Deb) Fout of Findlay and Jeff (Starla) Risner of Van Buren; and a step-sister, Linda (Dave) Ammons, Fla. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and his dog “Buster”.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; step-mother, Donna Fairchild; and two brothers, Paul “Doug” and Danny Fairchild.
He was a 1961 graduate of Vanlue High School. He went on to serve the U.S. Army in Germany. He retired as an inspector at Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria in the late 90’s.
Kenny enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, his guitar and singing.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME, Carey, OH. A Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Melanie Martin officiating.
