Henry D. “Bud” Norris, 90, of Fostoria, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria. He was born November 15, 1923, in Findlay to Ivron and Alice (Berman) Norris, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Norris, of Fostoria; his daughters, Sharon Ann (Steve) Umphress of Mount Blanchard, OH, Susan Louise (Rick) Jacox of Lexington, OH, and Sandra Lynn Brown of Fostoria, OH; his step-children, Michael (Becky) Shilling of Dansville, MI, John Shilling of Findlay, OH, Steve (Pat) Shilling of Vanlue, OH, Sharon (Harry) Colvin of Arcadia, OH, and Rick (Vickie) Shilling of Findlay, OH; his brother, Ivron J. (Barbara) Norris of Tiffin, OH; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond G. and Duane G. Norris; and his sister, Florence L. Norris.
Henry was a 1942 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School.
He married Helen Cochran in 1946. He later married Rosetta (Ward-Shilling) Norris in Norris, TN, on August 2, 1988.
Henry was a veteran of the US Army 30th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop and served during WWII. He worked at General Electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Blanchard River Church of Christ, Fostoria American Legion, and a Life Member of the Tiffin VFW.
Henry enjoyed traveling and riding his motorcycle, especially to Amish country.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
A memorial service will be Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steven Umphress officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
