Calvin D. Bean

Calvin Dennis Bean, 65, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, March 15, 2014 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
On August 31, 1948, in Tiffin, he was born to Calvin E. and Dorothy (Ross) Bean. He married Sharon K. Bare on August 9, 1969 and they later divorced.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Dennis Bean; mother, Dorothy Bean; sister, Debra Elaine Bean, all of Tiffin; and fiancée, Dorothy Siebenaller of Tiffin.
His father preceded him in death on June 18, 1998.
Calvin, also known as Denny by his family, graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1966. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps, 3rd Battalion 7th Marines India Company, serving during the Vietnam War and wounded, and awarded the Purple Heart and Medal of Valor. Calvin worked at General Electric in Tiffin for 20 years, Norton Crank Shaft in Fostoria, RCA, Harris Corporation and Intersill all in Findlay. He was a life member of DAV, Tiffin Am Vets Post# 48, VFW Tiffin Post# 2858, he was also a member of American Legion Post# 169, Tiffin Moose Lodge# 846 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 402. Calvin enjoyed target shooting, fishing, loved animals and will be remembered for being big hearted.
His funeral service will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with Chaplain Kathie Tomazic from Bridge Hospice. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local Veteran’s organization of choice.
