Opal Pauline “Polly” McBride, 97, of Fostoria passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria. She was born on April 15, 1916, to the late Charles and Maggie (Bailey) Snyder in Lima. She married Walter W. Meyers and he preceded her in death. She later married Victor N. Dunn and he died in 1983. She moved from Findlay to Florida and there she married William McBride. He is also deceased.
Pauline is survived by her son, Arthur (Nancy) Meyers, of Tiffin; daughter, Pamela (Ron Taylor) Young, of Findlay; son-in-law, Dennis (Sharon) Gershutz, of Toledo. She is also survived by her sister, Belva (Clarence) Weeks, of Hilliard; step-son, Tom (Connie) Dunn; step-sons, Pat and Mickey McBride; step-daughter, Susan (Michael) Borek; seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melonie Gerschutz and grandson, Mark Gerschutz.
Polly worked at Osterman Jewelers in Findlay for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Elks Lodge no. 1557 in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She was also a member of the South Daytona Christian Church and First Christian Church, Findlay. Polly loved playing bingo and cards.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Paul Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Lafayette Cemetery, Allen County. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and/or Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
