Pauline “Polly” Pettigrove, 87, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in her home.
She was born February 3, 1927 in Fostoria to the late George W. and Margaret (Hess) Clark. She married Elmer Harmon January 24, 1944 in Fostoria, and he preceded her in death in October of 1978. She then married Clarence Pettigrove and he too preceded her in death.
Polly attended Fostoria High School and was an Inspector for Excello, retiring October 30, 1987 after 35 years of service.
She was a certified pilot. She enjoyed playing golf, was a member of the Fostoria Women’s Club, the Local 1246, the Precious Moments Collector’s Club, and volunteered at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Surviving are her sons, Nicholas Jay (Barbara) Harmon of Monroe, Georgia, Jerry D. Harmon of Fostoria, and Kirk D. (Kim) Harmon of Akron; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred May Lovric of Fremont.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Clark Harmon; two brothers, Paul and Carl Clark; two sisters, Maxine Hall and Donna Schmiditz; a great grandson; and a great granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the funeral home, with grandson, Pastor Nick Harmon, presiding.
Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
