Felicien J. Laube

Felicien John Laube, 84, formerly of Fostoria, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at home under hospice care in Mt. Gilead.
He was born May 11, 1929 in Findlay to Norbert and Nora (Dindal) Laube. He married Virginia Eileen (Harter) Laube October 18, 1958 in Findlay, and she survives in Mt. Gilead.
Also surviving are two children, Jonathan P., of Brunswick, and Mrs. Douglas (Laura L.) Finney, of Findlay; three granddaughters, Felicia Laube, Anna Laube and Rebecca Finney, all of Findlay; siblings, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Koontz, of Lancaster, Mrs. Leroy (Marian) Marquette, of Rossford, Mrs. Joseph (Susan) Vajentic, of Elyria, and Mr. Robert Laube, of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by two children, Anthony Paul and Eric Todd Laube, and siblings, Norbert (Bud) Laube, Thomas Laube, Francis (Jerry) Laube, James Laube and Miriam Laube.
John was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Air Force in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, longtime member of St. Wendelin Church and current member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church of Cardington.
John was a graduate of Ohio State University, and served the Fostoria community for many years as a dental technician, making dentures for many of the area residents and dentists. He made a career of giving people smiles. After retirement, he moved to Mt. Gilead and enjoyed woodworking and watching the wildlife in the wooded hills of Candlewood Lake.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, and Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Committal services will take place at Fostoria Veterans’ Chapel where the United Veterans of Fostoria will provide military honors. Burial will follow in St. Wendelin Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Morrow County Hospice, St. Wendelin Catholic Church or Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Morrow County.
