Pauline E. Kuhn, 98, of Fostoria, passed away 4:35 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born July 21, 1915 in Alvada to Roman J. and Lauretta (Welter) Hoffbauer. She married Charles Krupp in 1940 and he died in 1965. She then married Cyril J. Kuhn in 1987 and he died in 1997.
Surviving are three step children, Carol A. (Thomas) Hagenmaier Fostoria, Sally J. (Jerry) Schmit, Adrian, MI and John C. Kuhn, San Francisco, CA; six step grandchildren, Jeff, Brian and Gregg Hagenmaier, Julie Clay, Cindy Nye and Jerry Ochs; eight step great grandchildren, Rachael, Ryan, Regan, Elizabeth, Forrest, Clayton, Tracy and Jacob; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Arles Hoffbauer; and four sisters, Esther Stein, Lucille Huth, Virginia Callander and Rita Hanson.
Pauline worked at Montgomery Ward in Fostoria for over 25 years as a sales associate and also for the former Ahlenius Co. and J Miller & Co., Fostoria retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and its Rosary-Altar Society, Fostoria Women’s Club, Daughters of Isabella and the former Fostoria Country Club. She dearly loved her grandchildren and enjoyed participating in family gatherings; and will be fondly remembered as an avid card player who loved to travel.
Visitation is Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2-5 pm at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian Wake will be held at 4:45 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 am. Committal prayers will take place in the Fostoria Veterans’ Memorial Chapel of Fountain Cemetery, with burial following in St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
