LAKOTA SOPHOMORE Kyleigh Dull shows off her trophy after winning a qualifying tournament for the American Junior Golf Association’s Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior on Monday at Bellefonte Country Club in Ashland, Kentucky.

ASHLAND, Ky. — Rising Lakota sophomore Kyleigh Dull won a qualifying tournament for the American Junior Golf Association’s Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior on Monday at Bellefonte Country Club.

Dull shot a four-over-par 74 for a one-shot win over Louisville’s Grace Walker.

Rather than staying to play in the 54-hole Bluegrass Junior, which began Wednesday, Dull will use the performance stars she earned toward entering future AJGA events.

Dull, who finished fourth in last fall’s OHSAA Division II state tournament, is scheduled to play in today’s U.S. Girls Junior qualifier in Hudson.

Roppe falls

Devin Miller and Derrick Kleinmark Jr. each had a hit and an RBI, but Fostoria Roppe Corporation fell 8-2 to Tiffin Catholic on Wednesday in a Seneca County A League youth baseball game.

Matthew Gierke, Matthew Balderama, Julius Robinson and Eli Kizer each had a hit for Roppe.

Robinson struck out four in two innings pitched, while Balderama fanned three in three innings and Eli Holman struck out one in one inning.
