Prep softball: Old Fort rolls to D-IV district final

OAK HARBOR — Ashlynn Magers collected five of Old Fort’s 17 hits and Makinsey Black drove in four runs as the Stockaders thumped Sandusky St. Mary’s 13-3 in six innings on Tuesday in a Division IV district softball semifinal.

Black had three hits of her own in the leadoff spot, while MarcQue Harris had a double among her three hits and Laini Gillett hit a solo homer as Old Fort upped its record to 16-6 and moved into Friday’s 5 p.m. district championship game against Gibsonburg.

The Golden Bears downed Northwood 14-2 in Tuesday’s other semifinal.

Caylee Fetter hit a two-run homer and Sara Bias smacked a solo shot for the Panthers (15-10).
