VAN BUREN — Van Buren scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to outlast New Riegel 16-15 on Friday in a game that featured 30 hits.

Saige Warren was the starter for Van Buren, and although he was unable to get out of the second inning and didn’t figure in the decision, he went 3 for 4 at the plate, scored three runs and drove in two more for the Knights (5-2).

Jaden Tabler, Angel Garcia, Kaleb Snodgrass, Hunter Fleck, A.J. Overmyer and Codi Leonard had two hits each for Van Buren. Tabler also earned the win, tossing 12/3 shutout innings in relief.

Jacob Theis was 3 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBIs for New Riegel (3-5). Cole Noftz went 4 for 5 and Alec Zoeller was 3 for 4 with a double for the Blue Jackets.

ARCADIA — Tanner Schroeder recorded 17 strikeouts while firing a two-hitter as McComb downed Arcadia 7-1 on Friday in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game.

Schroeder allowed only a triple to Hayden Rader and a double to Derron Seaburn and walked three as the Panthers raised their record to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the BVC.

Kyle Wasson had a double among his three hits and drove in three runs to lead McComb’s offense. Schroeder singled and knocked in a run.

The Redskins dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

FINDLAY — Liberty-Benton’s Anthony Wolford took a perfect game into the fifth inning and drove in two runs to pace the Eagles to a 12-0 victory over Fostoria High School on Friday in a nonconference baseball game.

Wolford struck out five and walked none as the Eagles improved to 5-3. Jon Sadler helped Wolford’s cause with three hits, including a double, and three RBIs, while Race Gorrell had a two-run home run and Griffin Snider had a single and two RBIs.

Colin Drake’s two-out fifth-inning single was the only hit for Fostoria (1-7), which committed five errors.

TIFFIN — Old Fort erupted with six seventh-inning runs to break a tie and claim a 13-7 win over Tiffin Calvert in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division baseball action.

The Stockaders, who improved to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the SBC River Division, were led by Jarrett Woodall’s three singles and three RBIs. Winning pitcher Jacob Webb singled twice and drove in a run and Ryan Miller singled, doubled and had an RBI.

Grant Vera homered and drove in a game-high four runs to lead the Senecas (3-3, 2-2). Nick Miller added a single, a triple and two RBIs.

BLOOMDALE — Elmwood squandered an early five-run lead and dropped a 9-8 decision to Liberty Center on Friday in nonconference baseball.

The Royals led 6-1 through three innings, but the Tigers (2-3) scored four times in the last two innings for a 9-7 lead. Elmwood scored once in the bottom of the seventh before coming up short and falling to 3-4.

Austin Like had three hits for Liberty Center.

Ryan Cox had two doubles among his three hits for the Royals, while Christian Aldaco hit a triple and two singles and Cole Barton singled twice.
