NORTH BALTIMORE — Hopewell-Loudon fell behind 5-0 in the first inning but used a six-run burst in the sixth to register a 9-5 victory over North Baltimore on Wednesday in Blanchard Valley Conference baseball action.

Cody Balliet collected a double, three singles and two RBIs for the Chieftains, who raised their record to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Connor Roush registered three hits and two RBIs and Bailey Breidenbach singled twice and knocked in two runs.

Winning pitcher Zach Kreais shut out the Tigers (4-2, 2-1 BVC) through the last six innings to record a complete game.

Tyler Durfey led North Baltimore’s offense with three singles and a pair of RBIs.

ARCADIA — Angel Garcia spun seven innings of two-hit shutout ball and drove in five runs at the plate in leading Van Buren past Arcadia 8-0 in Wednesday’s Blanchard Valley Conference game.

Garcia, who singled and doubled, struck out 10 batters and racked up just 69 pitches across seven frames and walked just one batter for the Black Knights (4-2 overall, 3-0 Blanchard Valley Conference).

Saige Warren and Blake Jones, the No. 1 and 9 batters, each singled twice and drove in a run. jaden tabler also tallied a pair of hits with two singles.

Dom Guillen and Matt Hill tallied the only two hits for the Redskins (2-4, 0-3) with a single each.

PEMBERVILLE — Eastwood’s Tyler Haas limited Fostoria to one hit over five innings with six strikeouts to pitch the Eagles to a 17-0 Northern Buckeye Conference victory.

Losing pitcher Dylan Sheets had the only hit for the Redmen (1-5 overall, 0-2 NBC).

Hunter Slattman finished a homer shy of the cycle and with six RBIs and Jake Pickerel was 5 for 5 with three RBIs for Eastwood (3-1, 1-1 NBC).

BLOOMDALE — Tyler St. Clair led Elmwood both on the mound and in the box as the Royals trumped Woodmore 7-1 in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.

St. Clair, who allowed just three hits and on run with six strikeouts in a complete game effort, added a single, a double and a team-high two RBIs at the plate for Elmwood (3-3, 1-1 NBC). Aaron Smith and Konner Logston each drove in a run.

Woodmore fell to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the NBC.

NEW RIEGEL — Tiffin Calvert scored seven runs in the sixth inning to overtake New Riegel and post a 9-4 win over the Blue Jackets in a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division baseball matchup on Wednesday.

Calvert (3-2 overall, 2-1 SBC River) trailed 4-1 entering the sixth. But the Senecas lined five hits and took advantage of three errors and a walk to turn the tables.
