Boys basketball: Woodmore knocks off Chieftains

ELMORE — Woodmore’s Mitchell Miller scored 21 points as the Wildcats used a 34-25 second-half advantage to knock off unbeaten Hopewell-Loudon 61-56 in a nonleague boys basketball game Saturday night.
Hayden Heidebrinka and Aaron Sandrock both scored 10 points for Woodmore (4-1).
Jordyn Jury (15 points, seven assists), Jake Simonis (12 points) and Luke Bolte (11 points) scored in double figures for the Chieftains, who dropped to 5-1.

ARCADIA — Park Hemminger recorded game highs of 20 points and eight rebounds as Tiffin Calvert used a big third quarter to take the lead and held off an Arcadia rally for a 46-42 nonleague boys basketball win on Saturday.
Connor Kennedy added 10 points and seven boards for Tiffin Calvert (2-1), which used a 27-6 third quarter to take a 38-19 lead.
Cole Coppus had 11 points and Levi Squire 10 for Arcadia (0-5).

But a slow first half proved too much to overcome as the Stockaders were edged 79-74 in nonleague boys basketball action.
Jacob Webb buried four 3s and finished with a game-best 28 points and five assists to lead Old Fort’s (3-2) 53-point second half. Weston Miller scored 13 and Zach Kohlenberg chipped in 12.
Bailey Kimberlin’s 26 points led the Polar Bears (3-3), Nick Leibacher scored 17 and Dylan Morris 14, including an 8 of 8 effort from the foul line.
