Prep roundup: H-L knocks off Fostoria in four sets

Kenadee Siebenaller led Hopewell-Loudon with 10 kills and four blocks as the Chieftains knocked off Fostoria 25-12, 21-25, 25-19, 25-16 in a nonleague volleyball match Saturday.
Jacque Burns served four aces, Chelsey Depinet collected 18 digs and Hailey Coppus dished out 31 assists for the Chieftains (7-2).
Tyriana Settles totaled 24 kills, 22 digs and two aces for Fostoria (8-3). Dakota Thomas added 27 assists on 89 of 90 setting, while Mary Harris collected 21 digs and three aces.

ARCADIA — Arcadia fell in straight sets 25-22, 25-21, 25-16 to Tiffin Calvert in a nonleague volleyball match Saturday.
Tori Green paced the Redskins (3-4) with nine kills on 24 of 27 hitting and three aces on 10 of 10 serving. Samantha Watkins led Arcadia with 12 kills and added 11 digs, while Sydney Ramsey served a perfect 13 of 13 and led the way with 17 digs.
Tiffin Calvert improved to 7-1 overall.

WAYNESFIELD — Vanlue won the second and fourth sets to force a fifth, but Waynesfield-Goshen bested the Wildcats 25-14, 15-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-6 in a nonleague volleyball match Saturday.
Amanda Clymer filled the stat sheet across the five sets leading the Wildcats (3-5) with 22 kills and 16 blocks. Bethany Smith led the way with four aces, Audrey Phillips had two aces on 18 of 18 serving along with 17 assists and eight digs, while Madi Yeater had a team-leading nine digs.
Waynesfield-Goshen improved to 3-7.

FINDLAY — Van Buren’s golf team had a pair of second-place finishes in what was a productive day at its Black Knight Classic at Red Hawk Run on Saturday.
The Knights (318) were runnersup and finished six strokes behind team champion Cincinnati St. Xavier (312).
The Black Knights’ Brandon Wehrle’s 74 was the second-lowest score, four strokes behind the medalist, Sylvania Northview’s Jack Kunkel (70).
Van Buren’s roster was rounded out by Hunter Foltz (76) who tied for fourth, Connor Ohlrich (83) with a tie for 15th and Noah Frederick and Quentin Weddell each carded an 85.

Cramer leads Arcadia
NORTH BALTIMORE — Patrick Henry’s Kaiden McGraw fired an 82 to power the Patriots to the team title at Saturday’s North Baltimore Tiger Invitational at Birch Run Golf Course.
Jordan Moore added an 86 and James Gerken and Kenton Shoemaker checked in with a 92 and 93, respectively, for Patrick Henry as the Patriots edged Woodmore 353-354 for the title.
Casey Cramer (97), Wyatt Lucas (101), Kaleb Enders (104) and Will Recker (108) were the top four golfers for Arcadia, which was eighth with 410 strokes.
Lincolnview’s Ryan Moody was the medalist with a 76.
