Prep Golf: H-L edges Carey for Seneca East Invite title

TIFFIN — Hopewell-Loudon used its depth Thursday to win the team championship on a fifth-player tiebreaker at the Seneca East Invitational at Clinton Heights Golf Course.
The Chieftains and Carey tied at 329, and Jena Huffman’s 89 from the No. 5 spot edged Carey’s Ethan Tanner by a stroke to give Hopewell-Loudon the title. Buckeye Central (336) was third.
North Baltimore (381) was seventh; Van Buren’s JV (388) was ninth; Mohawk (415) placed 10th; and Old Fort (408) was 12th in the 15-team field. Fostoria did not field a full team.
Carey’s Marcus Miller shot a 74 to win individual medalist honors.
Marcus White shot a 79 to lead Hopewell-Loudon, with Conner White carding an 81. Adam Creger had an 82 and Garrett White an 87.
Trey Bame shot an 80 to lead Carey. Dylan Grothaus had an 86 and McKain Miller an 89.
Hunter Baker had the low round for North Baltimore with an 89. Logan Druw paced Mohawk with a 94, Jarett Woodall led Old Fort at 91 and Jacob Counts shot 97 for Fostoria. No individual results were reported for Van Buren’s junior varsity.
