VAN BUREN — Lakota’s first three hitters in the order combined to go 11 for 15 with seven RBIs as the Raiders topped Van Buren 10-2 for a nonleague softball win on Tuesday.
Jenna Ranzenberger had two singles, a double, a home run and three RBIs out of the leadoff spot, Olivia Harden had four singles and two RBIs, and winning pitcher Brianna Ray doubled, singled twice and drove in a pair as the Raiders (7-4) had a 14-5 edge in hits.
Kila Fultz had two hits and an RBI to back the Black Knights (7-4).

NEW RIEGEL — Jacquelyn Lininger allowed just three runs on nine hits and New Riegel pounced on Arlington for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to run-rule the Red Devils 13-3 in nonconference play.
Emily Peters and Kristin Coleman (4 RBIs) both went 4 for 4 and Brianna Gilling was 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored for New Riegel (7-3).
Sara Solt, Emily Berry, Addy Lafferty and Abby Sheets all went 2 for 3 for Arlington (6-4).

VAN BUREN “” Mohawk broke a 4-4 with an eight-run sixth inning and claimed a 12-5 victory over Van Buren on Tuesday in nonconference baseball.
Tanner Osborn homered, singled and drove in five runs for the Warriors, who raised their record to 11-1. Austin Harper had a double among his three hits and knocked in two runs. David Dietrich, Cadin Emshoff and Wyatt Cook each had two hits, and Parker Brown hit a double and drove in a run.
Angel Garcia doubled, singled and drove in two runs and Saige Warren had two hits and two RBIs for the Black Knights (7-6).

NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel’s Alex Theis drove in eight runs with a home run, triple and a pair of singles on Tuesday to power the Blue Jackets to a 19-11 slugfest win over Arlington in a nonleague baseball matchup.
A senior pitcher/first baseman headed to Ohio State on a baseball scholarship, Theis plated plated four runs in the third inning with a ground out and a three-run home run, tripled in two runs in the fourth and drove in two more with a base hit in the fifth.
Alec Zoeller (2-1B, 2B) and Louisville signee Michael Kirian (2-2B, 1B) drove in three runs each and Jacob Theis had two singles and a double for New Riegel (8-3). Blue Jackets’ leadoff batter Cole Noftz did not get a hit, but drew four walks and scored four times.
Evan O’Rear had three hits and drove in three runs for Arlington (2-6). Tommy Jones (2-1B, RBI), Logan Speyer (1B, 2B), Matthew Freed (2-1B), Trevor Lotz (1B, 2B, RBI) and Isaih Dawson (1B, 2B, RBI) all added two hits each.

Track: Volpe wins pair
PORT CLINTON — St. Wendelin senior Sophia Volpe specializes in distance races, but she enjoyed success in the middle distances on Tuesday in a quadrangular meet with Fremont Ross, Port Clinton and Vermilion.
Volpe won the 400 (1:10.54) and 800 (2:29.37) as St. Wendelin finished last in both the boys and girls team standings.
Ross topped Port Clinton 127-68 in the boys team scoring, followed by Vermilion (45) and St. Wendelin (6).
Ross won the girls meet 93½-75 over Vermilion. Port Clinton had 61 points and St. Wendelin finished with 25½.
The Mohawks’ top boys showings were thirds from Anthony Reinhart in the high jump (5-0) and the 3,200 relay team of Carson Noel, Greg Ricker, Nick DeHaven and Patrick Castillo (9:27.30).
