Reiser finishes 31st in hammer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Elmwood High School graduate Kori Reiser, competing for Bowling Green State University, finished 31st in the hammer throw Thursday in the NCAA Division I regional track and field championships.
Reiser, a redshirt freshman, recorded a throw of 184-4 to move up from her seeding of 37th.
The top 12 qualified for the NCAA national championships June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.
Falcons junior Brooke Pleger, the 2013 regional champion in the hammer, finished second Thursday with an effort of 216-2, trailing only Princeton’s Julia Ratcliffe (221-6).
Reiser will compete in the discus today. She is seeded 42nd in the event.
