BOWLING GREEN — Jovan Austin, a guard from Paris (Texas) Community College, and Rasheed Worrell, a forward from Coker, Alabama, have signed National Letters of Intent to play basketball at Bowling Green State University.
The 6-foot-1 Austin, a teammate of fellow BGSU signee Delvin Dickerson at Paris, averaged 9.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season. He played his freshman season at Angelo State, where he averaged 12.3 points, 3.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game and was named co-freshman of the year in the Lone Star Conference.
The 6-foot-8 Worrell, who averaged 14.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.3 blocked shots per game as a senior at Sipsey Valley High last season, originally signed with Appalachian State in November but was released from his commitment because of a coaching change.
