Fostoria City Schools won its second consecutive eighth-grade girls basketball championship Saturday with a 37-30 victory over visiting Woodmore.
Fostoria finished the season with a 14-2 record. Woodmore finished 15-2.

fall to Old Fort
FREMONT — New Riegel’s junior high girls basketball teams both came up short to Old Fort Saturday in Midland Athletic League tournament semifinal play at Fremont St. Joseph.
Old Fort took the eighth-grade game 37-25 and the seventh-grade contest 22-18.
Brianna Gillig led New Riegel’s eighth-graders with 16 points and six rebounds.
Christen Hohman had nine points and four rebounds for the seventh-grade Blue Jackets, while Kristen Coleman had nine rebounds and four assists.

lose to St. Joseph
FREMONT — Hopewell-Loudon’s eighth-grade girls ended their season with a 9-2 record Saturday as host Fremont St. Joseph posted a 42-35 win in the Midland Athletic League tournament semifinals.
Hailey Coppus and Kyleigh Krupp scored nine points apiece for the Chieftains, while Jacque Burns pulled down seven rebounds.
H-L boys teams
Hopewell-Loudon’s junior high boys basketball teams claimed a pair of victories over Tiffin Calvert Saturday, claiming the eighth-grade game 41-36 and taking the seventh-grade contest 48-21.
Marcus White, Zach Kreais and Garrett White each scored 10 points for the eighth-grade Chieftains.
Caden Hoover’s 12 points paced Hopewell-Loudon’s seventh-graders.
