Lakota places 3rd in Kimmet Invite

TIFFIN — Levi Beckford, Jordan Jaso and Madison Jaso won championships Saturday to lead Lakota to third place in the 11-team Gene Kimmet Memorial Invitational at Tiffin Calvert.
Celina outscored Bucyrus 335-247 for first place. Lakota finished with 224 points and St. Wendelin was sixth with 154.
Beckford’s title came at 113 pounds, while Jordan Jaso claimed the 145-pound crown and Madison Jaso took the 160-pound championship.
Dakota Kroeger (126) and Brendon Biddle (132) were second for the Raiders, while Cody Carver (285) was third and Jared Wolph (182) was fifth.
Cole Williams (138) and Caleb Colburn (182) finished second for St. Wendelin, while Nick DeHaven (106) and A.J. Turner (195) were third for St. Wendelin.

THREE REDMEN PLACE
AT PERRYSBURG INVITE
PERRYSBURG — Three Fostoria High School wrestlers posted top-eight finishes as the Redmen finished 14th in Saturday’s 22-team Perrysburg Invitational Tournament.
Perrysburg edged Delta 290½-286 to win the event. Fostoria tallied 40 points.
The Redmen’s Luke Leonard improved his individual record to 18-3 by finishing fifth at 126 pounds with a 3-2 record.
Also for FHS, C.J. Matheny (16-6) was sixth at 160 pounds with a 2-3 record and Lance Smith (15-3) was seventh at 132 pounds with a 3-2 mark.

PAIR OF DUALS
BLOOMDALE — Four Elmwood wrestlers went 2-0 Saturday as the Royals beat North Baltimore and absorbed their first dual loss of the season at the hands of Gibsonburg.
Elmwood (15-1) defeated North Baltimore 45-18 and fell 33-30 to Gibsonburg.
Kieran Adamski won a match at both 120 and 126 pounds for the Royals, who also got two wins each from Noah Corral (138), Alex Sweet (152) and Nate Ramsey (182).
