According to a press release, Seneca County Drug Task Force – METRICH Enforcement Unit, along with assistance from Tiffin Police Department, Fostoria Police Department and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, made two drug busts in as many weeks.
Officers and deputies executed a second search warrant Tuesday at 42½ W. Perry St., Tiffin, and unveiled U.S. currency, suspected crack cocaine and criminal tools.
The Tiffin Police Department’s SRT (Special Response Team) Team and canine were utilized to execute the search warrant safely and effectively at the residence.
The owner of the home, Jerell A. Carroll, 26, of Tiffin, and a 15-year-old female, both formerly of Columbus, were arrested.
Carroll was arrested for corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the second degree, trafficking crack cocaine, a felony of the fourth degree, trafficking crack cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree, complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine, a felony of the fourth degree, and possession of criminal tools, a felony of the fifth degree. He was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Additional charges are pending on Carroll upon the conclusion of the entire investigation due the fact the juvenile female was reported as a runaway out of Columbus.
The female was arrested for trafficking crack cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree and transported to the Seneca County Youth Center. Franklin County has been notified the juvenile has been located and may have pending charges in addition.
“The Task Force continued to receive complaints of suspected drug trafficking going on from the residence, which continued the ongoing investigation on the suspects residing inside the residence. According to the Task Force, this continues to be an ongoing investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine out of Columbus, Ohio. After today’s operations, we determined a juvenile was involved, which prompted the swift action taken. These suspects recently moved into our city and evidently they are not getting the message that we will not stop until they all get incarcerated if they continue to sell their drugs in this community,” Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens said.
