Comment: Off

The Fostoria Community Band will present a lively spring concert on March 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fostoria Intermediate Elementary School.
The theme is “Across the Pond — Music from the British Isles to the American Shores.” Experience traditional marches, folk songs, movie music, Dixieland and more. The concert is free and open to the public.
Twelve musicians have joined the band since September, providing a fuller, richer sound.
Musical selections include: “Titanic,” “Second Suite for Military Band in F major” by Gustav Holst featuring English folk tunes, “King Across the Water” and other selections.
“Yorkshire Ballad” will be performed in memoriam to Sue Bartunek, a flutist with the band who passed in 2014 and “Original Dixieland Concerto” in memoriam to Bob Fiesel, a tuba player with the band and the Tuba Family Players who passed in 2017.
The Fostoria Community Band is directed by Craig McKenzie.
There will be light refreshments during the intermission and donations are accepted.
