A variety of supplemental appropriations are to be considered by the Seneca County commissioners when they meet in regular session at 10 a.m. today, including one for more than $2.7 million.
An agenda released Monday shows a supplemental appropriation of $2,760,000 for the Justice Center construction fund, but County Administrator Stacy Wilson told the Review Times it involves no additional funds for the project.
“(The $2.7 million) was appropriated last year but was not spent, so we have to re-appropriate it this year,” Wilson said Monday. “It’s not new money, and nothing additional is being spent with it.”
The commissioners are also to receive an update on the justice center construction project.
A second supplemental appropriation of $163,000 is also be to considered by the commissioners. Wilson said it is for the safety grant the county has sought in the same amount.
Of the $163,000, more than $147,000 is for equipment, and $11,221 will be for supplies. The remaining $4,648 will go to contracted services.
A fund transfer of $100,000 will allow the moving of money from the general fund to the soil and water fund, and the commissioners will vote to establish a budget stabilization fund.
An executive session is to be called near the end of the regular session. Wilson said the session will be called to discuss a property acquisition issue.
The meeting is to be conducted at the Commissioners Office, located at 111 Madison St., Tiffin.
