$78,000 bus bid brought before Lakota BOE today

Lakota Board of Education will be asked to approve a $78,000 bus bid and several personnel items when they meet at 7 p.m. today.
The bus bid from Cardinal Bus Sales and Service of Lima came in at $78,583, with a $200 early pay discount option.
Among the personnel issues to be deliberated by the board is the resignation of high school art teacher Haley Piper and approval of employment of RoAnna Stump and Sarah Brubaker, both classified substitute employees.
A recommendation is being made by Superintendent Jon Detwiler to hire Lily Garcia-Pena and Aaron Brown, both as certified substitute employees, and Cole Fitro as a high school art teacher.
Supplemental personnel contracts also appear on the agenda for Kedran Bilbrey, high school assistant football coach; Justin Spencer, junior High football coach; and Destiney Long-Meyer, junior high volleyball coach.
A motion is expected to be made to approve a trip by members of the school’s FFA Chapter to an FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 18-22.
Other business listed on the agenda includes a motion to approve a Support Organizations handbook and approval of a transfer of $25,000 in funds from the general fund to the food service fund.
The meeting is slated for the board’s meeting room on the school campus at 5200 Sandusky CR 13, Kansas.
