Sebastian Seem, 6, decorates a stencil of his first initial before cutting it out Thursday morning as part of Longfellow Elementary School’s “Leap Into Learning” program. Seem, and other incoming students at Longfellow, will spend the first three days — Thursday, today and Monday — meeting their teachers and going through the daily routine at the school, said Principal Kelli Bauman. The kids and their parents walked the halls Thursday morning, participating in various classroom activities as they were instructed on everything from classroom etiquette and lunchroom procedures to recess rules and where students will line up at the end of the day.
