Rice indicted after woman’s fatal OD

The Hancock County grand jury on Tuesday handed up an involuntary manslaughter indictment following a woman’s fatal overdose.
Randall E. Rice, 49, of Fostoria, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs, felonies of the first and second degree.
Prosecutors allege Rice on Aug. 31 caused the accidental death of Tara Mitsch, 35, in part by knowingly providing her cocaine, according to the indictment.
Mitsch died from a combined drug toxicity at Rice’s residence, 517 Clinton St. in Findlay, according to a coroner’s report.
Rice was sentenced in January to five years of intensive community control sanctions for convictions that include cocaine possession on Aug. 28 and Oct. 1, court records show.
A Findlay man was also charged with aggravated burglary, a felony of the first degree, after a June 28 incident in Findlay.
