Man indicted for officer assault

A Tiffin man charged with assaulting a Fostoria police officer in late April was indicted out of Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
Nathan S. Haskell, 43, Tiffin, was indicted by the Seneca County Grand Jury in papers filed Thursday on charges of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and assault, a fourth-degree felony, court documents state.
According to court records, Haskell allegedly “did knowingly obtain, possess, or use cocaine” on or about April 23. He also allegedly assaulted, or attempted to cause physical harm, to Fostoria Police Officer Brett Bethel while he was performing his official duties on or about April 23.
If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of up to two and a half years in prison.
