Kirk pleads not guilty to drug charges

A Fostoria woman arrested in February on multiple drug charges entered a plea of not guilty in Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
Maleta Kirk, 52, 404 E. Tiffin St., pleaded not guilty April 25 to charges of possession of cocaine, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, during her arraignment in Judge Steve C. Shuff’s Seneca County courtroom.
The charges stem from an incident in which Fostoria police officers discovered apparent narcotics during a traffic stop Feb. 15 at the intersection of North Countyline and Elm streets.
During the arraignment, Shuff continued her $40,000 with no 10 percent bond from Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court.
No future court date has been set in this case.
