Fostorian gets jail for firing gun

A Fostoria man was sentenced to two years of probation and 30 days in jail Monday for firing a weapon in Tiffin last November.
Tyler W. Earl, 24, 207 Jeanette Dr., pleaded no contest to and was found guilty of the charges of inducing panic and discharging a weapon in the city in connection to a stand-off, according to court documents.
Earl and Seth E. McMeen, 24, Tiffin, were charged and taken into custody following reports of gunshots fired at an apartment building on South Sandusky Street in Tiffin. Both suspects stayed in the apartment for several hours as law enforcement officers attempted to locate suspects.
The charges against McMeen were dismissed in March per request of the prosecutor as the state was unable to introduce evidence to prove he was guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
Documents indicate that Earl is not eligible for early release.
