Tiffin man charged after police chase

A Tiffin man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Fostoria after allegedly assaulting a woman and leading police on a foot chase.
Nathan S. Haskell, 34, of Tiffin, faces charges of assault, tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine, failure to obey a police officer and resisting arrest after he allegedly pushed a woman down at her West Ohio 18 apartment.
According to a news release from Fostoria Safety Service Director Allyson Murray, Fostoria police first pursued Haskell through the Columbus Avenue and Boston Avenue areas; and, following his apprehension, the suspect attempted to shove an officer and again tried to flee the scene.
Once Haskell was taken into custody, Murray said he provided officers with false identification.
Haskell appeared in Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court Thursday, at which time his bond was set at $115,000.
In an email to the Review Times, Murray said the official report for the incident is not yet complete as the officer involved in the case is out on medical leave.
