Was having problems with my cable television.
Turned out, the cable box was on its last legs, so I made an appointment with a technician to look at the mess.
I already had gone to the cable company office to swap the aged cable new box with a new one in an effort to re-establish proper cable service.
The problem was there were EIGHT cable wires behind the cable box, enough wires for a Broadway production of Spiderman.
Tentatively, I tried to reconnect the new machine, with limited results as I could view a few channels. Not to worry, I thought, the cable guy would be here the next day.
But this was the night of the Ohio State football opener with kickoff at 8 p.m. I settled in to watch my Buckeyes until..
“Signal lost” appeared on my TV set. I panicked and feverishly switched wires, in time to catch the first quarter.
The next day, the cable guy rectified this, but said a new cable box was needed to record shows via DVR.
I can’t win.
